Help Us with Trail Construction on the Dakota Ridge Trail! BACKGROUND: Jefferson County Open Space would like to give the mountain bike community an opportunity to shape what you shred by joining us in the construction of the Dakota Ridge Trail. Volunteers will be using hand tools build rock sustainable rock structures such as, bank turns, rock walls, steps and drops. This is a unique opportunity to create a mountain bike friendly black diamond experience that will last for years to come. We will be meeting on the Dakota Trail. Please park in the parking lot just inside entrance 2 of Red Rocks Amphitheater. Use the cross walk to cross County Rd 93/Hogback Rd and head up Dakota Ridge Trail. http://bit.ly/DakotaRidgeTrail **LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED. PLEASE NOTIFY JCOS IF YOU HAVE ANY DIETARY RESTRICTIONS** REQUIREMENTS: Be in good physical condition Be able to use a variety of tools, including shovels, picks and rakes Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian Be prepared for numerous and changing environmental conditions WHAT TO BRING & WEAR: Closed-toe, sturdy shoes are required. No open-toed shoes or sandals of any kind will be allowed. Long pants (we will be working in rattle snake habitat) Work gloves Plenty of water (2 quarts minimum) Raingear Sunscreen and insect repellent Toilet paper (recommended) A day pack
