Participant Opportunities

Volunteers will pick up trash along the trails in Crown Hill Park, a more urban park with a greater cleanup need than some of the local mountain parks. We'll cover as much ground as we can, focusing on the west side of the park near Kipling. Volunteers will clean trash, recyclables, and debris from the park. Trash affects water quality, endangers plants and animals, and pollutes the outdoor spaces we depend on for tourism and recreation. Volunteers will also pick up and dispose of discarded fishing line along the lake loop at Crown Hill Park. Partners and family members are welcome to join; please just enter the total number in your party when you register. Please meet at the Crown Hill Garland Trailhead (9357 West 26th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033) Directions to project site: https://share.google/EqKZ7gnlLWOhqwVVh Please consider carpooling. What to bring & wear: • Project waiver: All volunteers need to sign a waiver. If you are under 18, a guardian must also sign the waiver. If you register online, then you will sign an electronic waiver. • Closed-toe, sturdy shoes are required. • Pants, sunglasses, and hat recommended. • Work clothes that can get dirty. • Water bottles (totaling at least 2 liters). • Snacks. • Rain gear and appropriate layers for the forecasted weather. • Sunscreen, personal items, medications like inhalers and Epi-pens, etc. • Backpack (day pack). • No pets allowed. Jefferson County Parks & Open Space is counting on you for this project. We will be bringing tools, gloves, and staff to the project site, so knowing our numbers is important. If you are unable to volunteer, please cancel your sign-up so that others may participate. Jefferson County Parks & Open Space projects are rarely canceled due to weather; will be given a day in advance notice if cancelled.

Maximum Participants: 20
