On Saturday, September 30, 2017 the nation will celebrate the 24th annual National Public Lands Day, a volunteer effort aimed at preserving and protecting our public lands. This special day provides an opportunity to engage park visitors around a very important issue in their parks: dog waste and trash. This effort fits into the “Let’s Doo It!” campaign that kicked off in 2016 and is led by Jeffco Open Space, the City of Lakewood, Foothills Park & Recreation District and Evergreen Park & Recreation District. This campaign promotes picking up and disposing of dog doo through collective action.
