Participant Opportunities

Volunteers will assist in preparing the outdoor gardens, which will involve adding mulch to the Fawn Garden. Please meet at the Boettcher Mansion at Lookout Mountain (The building to the right), 900 Colorow Rd, Golden, CO 80401 https://maps.app.goo.gl/Kk73zXY27eM3edPu6 REQUIREMENTS: Be in good physical condition Be able to use a variety of tools, including shovels, picks and rakes Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian Be prepared for numerous and changing environmental conditions What to bring & wear: • Project waiver: All volunteers need to sign a waiver. If you are under 18, a guardian must also sign the waiver. If you register online, then you will sign an electronic waiver. • Closed-toe, sturdy shoes are required. • Pants, sunglasses, and hat recommended. • Work gloves (if you have them). • Work clothes that can get dirty. • Water bottles (totaling at least 2 liters). • Snacks. • Rain gear and appropriate layers for the forecasted weather. • Sunscreen, personal items, medications like inhalers and Epi-pens, etc. • Backpack (day pack). • No pets allowed Jefferson County Parks & Open Space is counting on your help for this project. We will be bringing tools and staff to the project site, so knowing our numbers is important. If you are unable to volunteer, please cancel your registration to allow someone else a chance to sign-up for the project.Jefferson County Parks & Open Space projects are rarely canceled due to weather.
