Participant Opportunities

Volunteers will meet at the Youngfield Greenbelt Trailhead – 3862 Youngfield Service Rd, Wheat Ridge CO 80033 https://maps.app.goo.gl/LWG7HaFj23uyvRXr6 Volunteers are encouraged to use alternative transportation to attend the project. Be part of our 7th annual National Public Lands Day effort. To date over 2,000 volunteers have picked up over 54,000 pounds of trash and planted tens of thousands of native plants to restore the places we love. At this site you will be volunteer cleaning up the natural area and trail resurfacing at the Youngfield Trailhead on the Clear Creek Trail. This is an excellent way to celebrate National Public Lands Day by improving a well-used community resource while protecting the surrounding natural environment. Volunteers will remove litter, resurface sections of the trail to improve safety and accessibility, and help ensure the trail remains welcoming for all users. The project will also include mulching and watering trees planted in October 2025 in partnership with Trout Unlimited, supporting their healthy establishment and enhancing the Clear Creek corridor for wildlife, water quality, and future generations. Be sure to join us for our post project celebration at Bear Creek Lake Park for our after-project celebration https://maps.app.goo.gl/pHFGmLyRBsfMJJNy6. Volunteers will be treated to live music, free food from a handful of food trucks and beer for individuals 21 years of age and older.
