Be part of our 7th annual National Public Lands Day effort. To date over 2,000 volunteers have picked up over 54,000 pounds of trash and planted tens of thousands of native plants to restore the places we love. At this site you will be helping to restore Majestic View Park after a heavy wetland construction/creation phase. You will be planting and seeding the ravines and wetlands with regionally appropriate plants to replace the almost 6 acres of invasive Russian Olive trees we removed. Volunteers will be treated to live music, free food from a handful of food trucks and beer for individuals 21 years of age and older. Volunteers arriving on foot or bike will receive an extra raffle ticket for a chance to win amazing prizes. REQUIREMENTS: Be in good physical condition Be able to use a variety of tools, including shovels, picks and rakes Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian Be prepared for numerous and changing environmental conditions WHAT TO BRING & WEAR: Closed-toe, sturdy shoes are required No open-toed shoes or sandals of any kind will be allowed Work gloves Plenty of water (2 quarts minimum) Rain gear Snacks Sunscreen and insect repellent Day backpack NO PETS ALLOWED
