Participant Opportunities
There are two Earth Day Events this year. Please be sure you are signing up for the correct activity. This activity starts at 9:30 am and will involve Native Planting and restoration. MEET AT THE WARD ROAD TRAILHEAD OF VAN BIBBER PARK for a restoration project including seeding, planting, and weeding. Big Daddy Bagels and Illegal Pete's will provide breakfast and lunch. Veggie and GF options will be available. This activity involves hiking and using common tools like shovels. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. As this is an outdoor activity, please dress in appropriate layers for the weather. WHAT TO BRING & WEAR: Closed-toed shoes are required (no sandals) Long pants and a hat are recommended Your own sack lunch + any snacks you may need Work gloves if you have them (we will have extras as well) 2+ liters of water Rain gear Sunscreen, insect repellent, any required medications A day pack (to hold all of the above) Jefferson County Open Space is counting on your help for this project. We will be bringing tools and staff to the project site, so knowing our numbers is important. If you are unable to volunteer, please cancel your registration to allow someone else a chance to sign-up for the project.
