MEET AT OPEN SPACE WELCOME CENTER, 700 Jefferson County Pkwy #100, Golden, CO 80401. BACKGROUND: Volunteers will have the opportunity to construct a new trail, restore unauthorized trails, perform light maintenance, assist with the removal of invasive weeds, and more! We will be at North Table Mountain to celebrate National Trails Day, but we will be shuttling to and from the Open Space Building to keep the Trailhead parking lot available to visitors. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. PARKING: Park at the District Attorney's Lot on Jefferson County Parkway, here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/k6LeFphJtAyZQshG6 Then you can walk up the stairs to the Open Space building next door. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Please plan to arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. for breakfast and check-in at the registration table in the Open Space Building. Everyone will be shuttled from the Open Space Building to North Table Park. We will be leaving at 8:40 am, so please be on time! If you must bring your car to NTM, you can follow the shuttle to the Main West Parking lot at North Table Mountain Park after registration. The parking lot is located here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Qtshq5ZUdz7zD79w8 After work, everyone will return to the Open Space building for lunch and a raffle! REQUIREMENTS: Be able to hike and use a variety of tools, including shovels, picks, and rakes. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Be prepared for numerous and changing environmental conditions. WHAT TO BRING & WEAR: Project waiver: All volunteers need to sign a waiver. Paper copies will be available for anyone who does not fill one out online. Closed-toe, sturdy shoes are required (no sandals). Work gloves (we will have extras if you don't have any). Plenty of water (2 quarts minimum). Rain gear and appropriate layers for the forecasted weather. Snacks. Necessary medications like Epi-Pens, inhalers, etc. Sunscreen and insect repellent. A day pack. If you need to cancel: Jefferson County Parks & Open Space is counting on your help for this project. If you are unable to volunteer, please cancel your registration to allow other volunteers to fill your spot. NO PETS or ESA ALLOWED. Task assigned, Service Animals permitted.
