Participant Opportunities

Volunteers will meet here: 5895 Pierce St, Arvada, CO 80003 (street parking available on Pierce St). Please meet at the table in the Northeast corner of the park. Volunteers are encouraged to use alternative transportation to attend the project. Participants will be working along a 19.5 mile stretch of the Peaks to Plains Trail along Clear Creek along with other tributaries. Past efforts have resulted in the collection of 38,870 pounds of trash. Mismanaged trash that escapes into waterways can create a wide range of problems. Aquatic trash affects water quality, endangers plants and animals, and pollutes the outdoor spaces that we depend on for tourism and recreation. Description of Work: The heavy usage of this park has led to the adjacent portion of Ralston Creek being badly polluted with trash. Volunteer crews at this location will focus on picking up trash to prevent it from polluting the watershed and harming wildlife. Be sure to join us for our post project celebration at Anderson Park in Wheat Ridge Volunteers will be treated to live music, free food from a handful of food trucks and beer for individuals 21 years of age and older. Volunteers arriving on foot or bike will receive an extra raffle ticket for a chance to win an amazing prize.
