Barbed Wire Fence Removal at North Table Mountain - North Table Mountain Park

Participant Opportunities
Volunteers will be working at North Table Mountain, removing old, unused barbed wire fencing and posts. The materials have been identified, coiled, stashed, and mapped by one of our amazing volunteers. Removing this material will reduce or eliminate injury and entanglement hazards to wildlife moving through the area such as elk and mule deer. Directions to Project Site: https://maps.app.goo.gl/tEAmoa8A2mWwFtPC6 We will meet at the end of @ 43rd Dr (cul-de-sac). What to bring & wear: • Project waiver: All volunteers need to sign a waiver. If you register online, then you will sign an electronic waiver. • Closed-toe, sturdy shoes are required. • Pants, sunglasses, and hat recommended. • Work gloves (if you have them). We will have some on site as well. • Work clothes that can get dirty. • Water bottles (totaling at least 2 liters). • Snacks. • Rain gear and appropriate layers for the forecasted weather. • Sunscreen, personal items, medications like inhalers and Epi-pens, etc. • Backpack (day pack). • NO PETS ALLOWED Be able to hike and use a variety of hand tools. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Be prepared for numerous and changing environmental conditions Jefferson County Open Space is counting on you for this project. If you are unable to volunteer, please cancel your registration to open it up for someone else.
