Right turn only while heading east on 6th Ave. BACKGROUND: We'll be performing light maintenance on the lower Chimney Gulch trail. Take care of the trails you use and love! Volunteers will be maintaining trail features and cutting back vegetation. No prior experience is necessary, and new volunteers will be provided training by staff or veteran volunteers. This activity involves hiking and using common tools like shovels. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. As this is an outdoor activity, please dress in appropriate layers for the weather. WHAT TO BRING & WEAR: Closed-toed shoes are required (no sandals) Long pants and a hat are recommended Your own sack lunch + any snacks you may need Work gloves if you have them (we will have extras as well) 2+ liters of water Rain gear Sunscreen, insect repellent, any required medications A day pack (to hold all of the above) Jefferson County Open Space is counting on your help for this project. We will be bringing tools and staff to the project site, so knowing our numbers is important. If you are unable to volunteer, please cancel your registration to allow someone else a chance to sign up for the project. Given the variability in weather during the winter months, there is always a risk of trail work being canceled/rescheduled.
