Volunteer Opportunities

PARKING: Meet at 9am at Red Rocks in the Upper South Lot located off Ship Rock Road just south of amphitheater. (copy and paste link into web browser for exact location) https://maps.app.goo.gl/HhnXBHUnHFznBrzb6 BACKGROUND: Join Denver Mountain Park Rangers, Jefferson County Open Space and Wild Aware to remove old barb wire fence along the border between Mathews Winters Park and Red Rocks. This activity involves hiking and using common tools like pliers and fence cutters. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. As this is an outdoor activity, please dress in appropriate layers for the weather. WHAT TO BRING & WEAR: Long Sleeve Shirt Closed-toed shoes are required (no sandals) Long pants and a hat Sunglasses or eye-protection glasses Your own sack lunch + any snacks you may need Work gloves if you have them (we will have extras as well) 2+ liters of water Rain gear Sunscreen, insect repellent, any required medications A day pack (to hold all of the above) Jefferson County Open Space is counting on your help for this project. We will bring tools and staff to the project site, so knowing our numbers is important. If you cannot volunteer, please cancel your registration to allow someone else a chance to sign-up for the project.
