Background: We will disassemble and rebuild a rock wall to widen the tread at the base of the Red Rocks Trail. This project will involve moving and placing rock and moving dirt. Meeting Location: We will meet at the MathewsWinters Park Trailhead and shuttle to the location. https://maps.app.goo.gl/fYeLGe3jf1QNT3LK9 If by chance you need to arrive late or leave early, there is limited parking at the worksite (take exit #1 to the point where the trail crosses over the road). As this is an outdoor activity, please dress in appropriate layers for the weather. WHAT TO BRING & WEAR: Closed-toed shoes are required (no sandals) Long pants and a hat are recommended Your own sack lunch + any snacks you may need Work gloves if you have them (we will have extras as well) 2+ liters of water Rain gear Sunscreen, insect repellent, any required medications A day pack (to hold all of the above) Jefferson County Open Space is counting on your help for this project. We will be bringing tools and staff to the project site, so knowing our numbers is important.
