Barbed Wire Removal

PARKING: Meet at 9 am at the Stegasouras Park & Ride (also the Dakota Ridge TH) here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/GiUgx6eyKE5TTUM47 BACKGROUND: Join Jefferson County Open Space to remove the old barbed wire fence at Dakota Ridge. This activity involves hiking and using common tools like pliers and fence cutters. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. As this is an outdoor activity, please dress in appropriate layers for the weather. WHAT TO BRING & WEAR: Long Sleeve Shirt Closed-toed shoes are required (no sandals) Long pants and a hat Sunglasses or eye-protection glasses Your own sack lunch + any snacks you may need Work gloves if you have them (we will have extras as well) 2+ liters of water Rain gear Sunscreen, insect repellent, any required medications A day pack (to hold all of the above) Jefferson County Parks & Open Space is counting on your help for this project. We will bring tools and staff to the project site, so knowing our numbers is important. If you cannot volunteer, please cancel your registration to allow someone else a chance to sign-up for the project.
